Footnotes
Released as a support to Hammer’s The Evil of Frankenstein in 1964, this film is noted for its atmospheric title sequence where the credits appear throughout a protracted stagger around a dank asylum.
George A. Cooper also appeared for Hammer as Doug Savage in Hell is a City (1960) and as the landlord in Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968). His notable TV work includes the part of Mr Griffiths – the caretaker in BBC TV’s Grange Hill (1977).
Jennie Linden starred alongside Glenda Jackson and Oliver Reed in Women in Love (1970), and as Barbara in the spin-off from the cult BBC TV series Dr Who and the Daleks (1965) starring Peter Cushing as the Doctor.
Timothy Bateson’s other Hammer appearances were as Mr Bird in The Anniversary and (uncredited) as Simpson in Yesterday’s Enemy (1959)
