He promises to give it up, but, when he and his neighbour Ted win a horse in the Irish Sweepstakes, the temptation to have one last bet is too great. Now, the only problem he has is to make sure that Vera does not find out….

Betta St John also starred with Hammer favourite Christopher Lee in the 1960 horror “The City of the Dead”. William Franklyn’s one other appearance for Hammer was in 1973’s “The Satanic Rites of Dracula”, but was probably best known for the “Schhh… You Know Who” television adverts for Schweppes from 1965 to 1973. The was Mandy Miller’s last film, although she continued acting in various roles for television until 1963.
